How to troubleshoot the Frame Grabber\Chameleon Camera Simulator not found by Vision Point

1. Make sure that Vision Point SDK is installed in the system:

2. Restart the computer.
Please note that for Windows 10, the shutdown is a type of Hibernate, so you need to perform a restart to initialize the card correctly.

3. Check the Board LEDs status:

4. Check if the Frame Grabber card was found in the device manager:

5. Try to change the following BIOS settings if exist:

  • Enable PCIe slot
  • Set the PCIe slot to gen 3.0 x 8 lanes
  • Slowdown device enumeration
  • Disable SR-IOV (Single-Root Virtualization)
  • Fastboot to "Thorough" (or disable)
  • Disable "Data Link Feature Exchange" (refer to PCI-E 4.0 issue article)

6. If all of these steps didn't help, send us following information:

  • LED status found in previous steps
  • Status of the board in Device Manager in Windows or lspci command in Linux
  • Photo of both sides of the Frame Grabber board
  • Generate full diagnostic log
