Transition to the new kernel driver starting from software 4.4

Starting from Vision Point 4.4 software, the new driver will be installed under "KAYA Instruments Devices" group.
This knowledge base will guide you through the transition to the new kernel driver.

The "old driver" created "KAYA Hardware Driver" device under "KAYA Instruments" group in Device Menage, as shown in the image below.
In order to prevent Windows from using the "old driver", when updating Vision Point application to 4.4 version or higher, the following steps must be taken:

Uninstalling kayadrvr.sys driver:
1. Open Device Manager
2. Right click on the KAYA Hardware Driver, choose properties
3. In Driver tab, choose Uninstall Device
4. Check the "Delete the driver software from this device" checkbox and Uninstall driver
5. Please refer to the image below for reference
6. Check that the kayadrvr.sys driver was removed from C:\Windows\System32\drivers directory

Removing old drivers from the repository:
1. Please download the Rapr.exe utility from here
2. Execute the Rapr.exe utility as administrator
3. Under KAYA Instruments check all the listed drivers
4. Under Operations, check "Force Deletion" checkbox5. Please refer to the image below for reference
6. Check that the kayadrvr drivers were removed from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository directory

Installing the new driver:
1. Please install the new version of Vision Point application from our latest installation package for Windows
2. Check that the new KAYAKERN.sys driver was installed in the directory
3. After installing the new version of Vision Point application, the new driver will be installed, which only creates "KAYA Instrument Devices" group, as shown in the image below
